NOSTEPINDE Used to hand wind a center pull ball of yarn. Instructions included.
Nostepinde originally comes from the Scandinavian countries. Its name means "noste", ball of yarn, and "pinde", little stick. It is used to wind a center pull of yarn if you don't have a swift. Start by tying a couple of half hitches to either the top or bottom groove. Hold the bottom of shaft in left hand and begin to wind the yarn around the nostepinde, winding towards you. After a few turns you can begin to wind the yarn diagonally, turning the nostepinde as you go. When the ball is the size you want, loosen the half hitches and slid the ball off. Nostepende are available in Color Wood, California Black Walnut, Cocobolo, Pink Ivory. Zebra, and Black & White ebony.
These are hand turned on a lathe by my 12 year old Grandson, Joe. Joe has been working in the wood shop since he was four years old and is an accomplished wood worker.
